Let's find the right keywords for your content
SEO can feel mysterious when you're looking at it from the outside. Full of acronyms, tools, rankings, and conflicting opinions.
But at its heart, it's based around a simple concept: search engines want to match good information with the people looking for it. Your job is to help them figure out what your content is about.

Keyword research is part of how you do that.
Who can benefit from hiring someone to do keyword research for them?
Copywriters
Website designers
Blog writers
Small business owners
Marketers
Content creators
Being visible in search is usually one of the top goals of you and/or your clients. You want to be found on search engines and through LLMs, and, as we all know, that comes down to optimisation and doing the right things to tick the right boxes.
Realistically, not every website copywriter or content creator or blogger is going to be well versed in SEO. That’s the beauty of human beings, right? Our brains all work differently! Your specialty might be in tone of voice or a particular industry, or just simply writing the best words for your clients.
But that doesn't mean that on-page SEO has to be completely off the table. Instead of worrying about not being able to optimise your content or offer SEO copywriting services to your client, you can outsource the part that maybe isn’t your strong point.
What will you get with this keyword research service?
When you hire me for keyword research, you get a comprehensive package that sets you up for success:

Keyword research for the business, including search volume, search intent, and current top result (usually between 50-100 keywords)
Page mapping for 3-5 landing pages (target + supporting keywords, meta title + description suggestion)
Competitor analysis for up to 5 given businesses, to see what opportunities and challenges your content is up against
Guidance for your written content before you present it to your client (such as keyword use, headers, structure used)
So, how much will your keyword research cost?
My standard package is NZ$500 for a 5-page website copywriting project.
This is a base rate, and so may be scaled up or down depending on complexity.
Please note that this does not include any technical advice or instructions, nor does it include me writing any of the content for you. It's intended to focus on keyword research only; providing you with search terms to use within your content.

FAQ about SEO keyword research
Can I guarantee ranking results to my clients?
Unfortunately, there's no magic wand that promises specific positions in search results - as much as we'd all love there to be!

What this service does is follow current SEO best practice to support your client's visibility. Keyword research, intent, and structure all contribute to that, although technical factors like page speed and site performance play a role too.

By hiring someone to do the keyword research for you, you're giving your content a solid foundation. You're making informed decisions, using data, about what to write and how to structure it, which puts you in a much stronger position than just guessing and hoping it works out.
Is this just for SEO or is it for AEO too?
The keyword research I provide is designed to show you what people are searching for, how they phrase their questions, and what type of content is performing well. That sort of data is useful for both SEO + what is currently being dubbed as AEO/GEO.

Neither search engines nor AI tools read content like humans do. They scan for signals that help them understand what a page is about and whether it's relevant to someone's query. When your content includes relevant terms naturally and in the right places, it helps make those signals clear to both systems.

LLMs (like ChatGPT) and search engines (like Google) want to give their users the best information possible. From that perspective, the fundamentals are the same, at least for now.

Do you liaise with my client or is it a white label service?
You're my client, so I'll work with you directly. I won't contact your client unless you specifically ask me to.

This setup works really well for copywriters and content creators who want to offer keyword research as part of their service without having to learn the skill themselves. You get to present it as part of your package, and your client gets the benefit of proper keyword research.

And don't worry, all the information you share about your clients is kept strictly confidential. I treat client details with care, and nothing gets shared or passed on.
What’s the process for us working together?
When we team up, here's how it will typically work:

-
I'll send you a questionnaire to pass on to your client, along with details of what I need from you. You'll gather the information and send it my way.
-
Once I have everything, I'll get started on the research. You can usually begin working on your side at the same time.
-
When the research is done, we'll catch up and I'll hand everything over to you. You'll have all the keywords and general guidance you need to incorporate into your content.
-
After you've written your first draft, you're welcome to send it to me for feedback and guidance on the on-page SEO. I'll review it and let you know if there are any tweaks that could strengthen it.

This works as a one-off project or as an ongoing partnership. If you have regular clients who need keyword research, an ongoing arrangement can be really helpful. It means I'm already familiar with your style and can turn things around quickly.
Is this just for website copywriting or can you also help me with keyword research for a blog post?
I can absolutely work on keyword research for blog posts as well as website pages. The approach is the same, we'll just zoom in on your chosen topic. Shoot me a message if you'd like to discuss a blog post project.
